Sora Cocktail Bar - Ho Chi Minh City

What a fantastic and vibrant city this is. I spent the last night walking around the Japantown section of Ho Chi Minh City enjoying the sights and sounds of the extensive bar and restaurant scene. Now much of this area has what they call “Lady Bars” where beautiful women sit outside the bar and invite you in to share a drink and their company. No not what you think…that’s pretty illegal here. It was fun to see the different culture but I wasn’t too interested in buying a girl drinks, less for me.

I ended up finding a fantastic place, Sora Cocktail Bar, that exclusively bills itself as “not a lady bar”. What a find! A must stop in Japantown. This small but classy bar took their drinks seriously, the bartender was an artist. The cocktails were flavorful, beautiful, and just the right amount alcohol for my tastes. On top of that the people were so nice and fun to talk to. Thank you to my new Vietnamese friends for such a fun evening…
